EPIC: The Sustainable Living Festival is a two day event taking place
at the iconic VanDusen Botanical Garden on the weekend of July 6 & 7,
2013. The “Festival” format means day-long live music playing on the
Main Stage, tons of food and beverage vendors, a 19+ only area with
beer, wine and spirits, and a host of other activities and educational
programming. The idea is that visitors will come early and stay all
day. (EPIC used to be a ‘sustainable living expo’ at the Convention
Centre. EPIC Festival is a full-on reinvention of this event.) Please
visit epicfest.ca for more information.
With the new venue, format and positioning comes a much greater need
for volunteers: there are three times more tasks than ever before! We
have started recruiting for EPIC 2013, and are very excited to get
bright, passionate and awesome volunteers involved! We have several
areas where we need help, broken down into six main categories:
Environment/Zero Waste Crew
Descriptions of the positions and a volunteer overview can be found
here. After you have read the descriptions and have found a position
that interests you, please complete the online application form. Once
you submit the form you will receive a confirmation email.
Note: Volunteers are required to commit to a minimum of two shifts in
one department and attend an orientation session.
This is a great opportunity for high school students and older.
Outstanding volunteers will receive letters of reference.
