During the week of September 18th-23rd the SFU Public Square and the Vancouver Foundation will co-present a weeklong Community Summit exploring the issues of isolation and disconnection in the urban environment. We understand that a public square is not only a place for SFU to engage with the community, it is also a space where community groups may self-organize. To this end, we are excited to offer free open space at our three SFU campuses (Surrey, Vancouver, Burnaby).
- Is your group or organization working to create connections in the urban environment?
- Does your group or organization need space to hold a meeting or an event the week of September 18 to 23, 2012?
If yes, apply to secure one of the free spaces at one of the SFU Surrey, Burnaby or Vancouver campuses.
In addition to the space, SFU Public Square is actively seeking sponsorship to supply a minimum $500 grant to aid the selected community groups in hosting their event.
