Aboriginal Pre-Health Program
This bridging program encourages and equips Aboriginal (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit) high school graduates and mature students to pursue and succeed in health careers. In addition to the skills and prerequisites needed for a post-secondary program, students receive support from Aboriginal Elders, community members, newly trained Aboriginal health practitioners, other health professionals, and student mentors who provide
subject-specific tutoring. Ultimately, this program enhances the capacity of Aboriginal communities to address their health needs.
The Aboriginal Pre-Health Program is a full-time bridging program that takes place over two semesters at SFU Surrey. The next program runs from September 2012 to April 2013. Graduates of the Aboriginal Pre-Health Program earn both academic credit and conditional acceptance to SFU.
