Vancouver Foundation today announced the launch of the Generation Green Photo Contest.
Send in your best shot of a green object or a green activity in a Vancouver neighbourhood, and you could win some great prizes.
Young photographers aged six to 24 can win big (or small). There are monthly mini-prizes for the Green Shot of the Month. And at the end of the contest, Vancouver Foundation will award a high-end camera (donated by London Drugs, Panasonic, and Olympus) in each of three age categories — shutterbugs (6-12), pixel prodigies (13-17) and hot shots (18-24).
Photographers 25 years and over are welcome to enter the photo contest as well, and will be eligible for the monthly mini-prizes only.
The Generation Green Photo Contest runs until September 30. Images must be taken in Vancouver neighbourhoods. Winning images will be determined by an independent jury and announced on October 27.
The photo contest is part of Vancouver Foundation’s Generation Green Awards project, which is providing cash awards for environmental projects created by young people in Vancouver neighbourhoods. Launched in January 2011, the program is helping to celebrate Vancouver’s 125th anniversary and to support the City’s goal of becoming the greenest in the world.
