Certificate in Dialogue and Civic Engagement

If your work involves consulting, connecting and engaging people on key community issues, the Certificate in Dialogue and Civic Engagement offers you strategies for increasing participation, handling conflict, and generating creative solutions.

Apply now to join this year’s cohort of learners to increase your skills, expand your network, and enhance your confidence. Whether you’re initiating a new project, taking on more responsibilities, or looking for fresh ideas to work more effectively, this Program will benefit you and your organization.

Participants include people from non-profit and community organizations, business, labour and health sectors, all levels of government, Crown corporations, and Aboriginal bands and organizations.

Through a series of courses, workshops, and a practicum project you have the opportunity to:

• Understand concepts, emerging models, best practices and tools for civic engagement

• Meet and work together with a community of fellow civic engagement professionals

• Learn a range of possible models for how to improve policy, programs and services

• Design and implement your own real life engagement project with coaching support and feedback.

The Certificate is a part-time program designed for working professionals, starting September 2011.

Program Application deadlines: The early bird deadline is coming up soon! Send in your complete application by the end of this week, June 17, 2011 and you will receive $300 off the tuition.

Final application deadline: July 29, 2011.
