Coordinator, Promotion – Mediatheque
Wage: $45,159 to $55,488
Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Marketing and Promotions, provide support to the Supervisor, Marketing and Promotions, and the Supervisor, Operations and Educational Programming, in the development of promotional and marketing campaigns for the venues, workshops, as well as special public events at the Mediatheque. Participate in the preparation of the promotional plans. Execute blog and social media outreach to promote Mediatheque events and activities while expanding our social media networks. Develop relationships with key bloggers. Update Mediatheque website. Develop online contests on Facebook and Twitter to engage audience participation and attendance at activities and events. Develop promotional materials in English and French and participate in the implementation of the promotional campaigns. Write promotional texts for all Mediatheque events and activities, including texts for the Web (blogs, social media sites) and print materials, periodicals, newspapers, newsletters and evites. Ensure all promotional messaging is accurate in both English and French. For promotional purposes, develop targeted audience databases and contacts, as well as connect directly with promotion counterparts in key organizations and communities in the GTA. Expand client database as well as maintain relationships via promotional tools with existing clientele.
College or university degree in an appropriate discipline such as Marketing, Public Relations or Communications, preferably coupled with three years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong promotional writing skills. Experience in using social media and online networking tools to effectively and successfully increase awareness of and attendance at events and activities. Ideally, some experience in media relations in the Toronto area. Ability to establish and maintain effective and courteous work relationships with colleagues and industry representatives. Ability to work under pressure. Suitable personal qualities such as sound judgment, leadership, initiative, courtesy, tact and autonomy. Experience in promoting cultural events and creating cross-promotion opportunities with partners, particularly to attract capacity audiences, would be a definite asset. Good knowledge of the Canadian film industry and Toronto cultural milieux.
KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH AND FRENCH IS REQUIRED.
