Don’t forget to register by Monday, June 4 for the inaugural “Dialogue Development” alumni skill-building session. This event will provide space for recent and distant graduates to explore the burning question many alumni have asked upon completing the Semester in Dialogue: How can I continue to have positive impact on the world post-dialogue?
Date: Wednesday, June 6
Location: Harbour Centre 3050 (Dialogue Classroom)
RSVP Deadline: Monday, June 4 (http://websurvey.sfu.ca/survey/110417338)
Alumni facilitators will help to lead dialogues around three sub-topics:
Working inside the system: What opportunities exist to effect positive change by working with institutions collaboratively from the inside? Dialogue alumna Jennyfer Chamberland will kick off the discussion by discussing her own experiences working in the office of SFU’s VP Academic.
Further education: How can further education support personal and professional goals to make a difference? Dialogue alumna Heather Mancell will initiate the dialogue by drawing from her studies as a medical student at the UBC Faculty of Medicine.
Creating your own position: Can dialogue alumni succeed in creating and funding their own job? Dialogue alumna Deborah Harford will get the conversation rolling by recounting her experience creating the Adaptation to Climate Change office at SFU.
